The iDiet is a weight loss program developed by Susan Roberts, PhD, a professor of nutrition at Tufts University. It is based on her research on the brain and eating. She also co-wrote the book The I Diet (Workman Publishing, 2010).
The program aims to help people lose weight without hunger. It teaches new food habits so that people come to prefer healthier foods over time. In 2016, the program website said the iDiet used more than 20 years of research and clinical trials.
In 2016, the program ran as online group classes led by a trained group leader. The website said a typical weight loss was 25 pounds over 24 weeks. It also offered a version for employers to give to their workers, and a free recipe book.
