Each fall, the county health department and Kanawha County Schools held flu vaccine clinics at school sites across the county. Sometimes a clinic moved to a new site before the clinic day.
News reports show these site changes for the high school flu clinics in 2020 and 2021:
- Saturday, November 7, 2020: drive-thru flu clinics ran at eight high school sites from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Herbert Hoover High School clinic took place at the site of the former school on Elk River Road North in Elkview.
- Saturday, October 16, 2021 (Arms Across Kanawha): in September 2021, the health department said a clinic at Coonskin Park would take the place of the Herbert Hoover High School site. A news report on October 15 listed Coonskin Park. Reports on the day of the event listed Elkview Baptist Church as the eighth site.
