Walk-Up Vaccine Clinic at Wagging Tales & Nitro Ales

The county health department offered a walk-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Wagging Tales & Nitro Ales event in Nitro, in western Kanawha County. At a walk-up clinic, people could get a vaccine with no appointment.

In 2021 the health department moved from large clinics in Charleston to smaller clinics in towns across the county. After the weekly clinics at the Charleston Coliseum paused in late April 2021, health officials said they would take the vaccine to where people were. Walk-up clinics at the health department office on Lee Street in Charleston offered vaccines and COVID-19 tests on set days.
