On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, 568 people got a COVID-19 test at a drive-up testing event at the Schoenbaum Center in Charleston. The county health department gave the number in a news release. The line and the wait were long during parts of the day.
The county health officer said it was the 24th testing event and the largest turnout to that date. Because of the July 4 holiday weekend, some results were not expected until the next Monday.
