Staff from the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department, Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority and the Charleston Fire Department will be on hand to provide COVID-19 vaccines during the upcoming WVSSAC Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball state tournaments at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Anyone over age 16 may receive a vaccine before or during the games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 27 through 29 and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 4 through 6 at the Coliseum.
“Everyone who can receive the vaccine should do so,” said Dr. Sherri Young, health officer and executive director of the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department. “We understand that parents and teenagers are busy, so this is one way we hope to make the process more convenient for them.”
COVID-19 vaccines are also available by appointment in the KCHD clinic by calling 304-348-8080.
