West Virginia Day fell on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. State law names June 20 as “West Virginia Day,” one of the state’s legal holidays.
The holiday marks June 20, 1863, the day West Virginia became a state. In 2017 the state marked its 154th year.
The health department office also closed for West Virginia Day in other years. See West Virginia Day – 06/20/2019 and the events calendar.
