Free HIV testing was set up in lot B at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church as one of the 2021 outreach stops run by the county health department and community partners.
Church and community parking lots were common sites for these events. Most ran from noon until 4 or 5 p.m., so people could stop by during the day.
Testing at these outreach events was free and came with linkage to care for anyone who tested positive. COVID-19 testing and vaccines, plus hepatitis A, hepatitis B and tetanus shots, were also offered. Residents who could not reach an event could call the health department at 304-348-8080 to set up an HIV test by appointment.
Other church sites in the series included St. Marks United Methodist Church.
