COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic by Appointment Only

In the first months of 2021, most COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Kanawha County were by appointment only. The county health department and the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority held large clinics at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

People signed up through the state registration system and were called with a time. Walk-ins were not accepted, and people with appointments were guaranteed a dose. People were asked not to arrive more than 15 minutes early.

By late April 2021, supply had grown. The last weekly Coliseum clinic, on April 24, took walk-ins from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for anyone 16 and older. Appointments could still be made by calling 304-348-8080.
