Health Department to Host Cruise-Thru Shot Clinic for County’s First Responders

In September 2022, the county health department announced a First Responder Cruise-Thru Clinic. The clinic took place on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the health department office, 108 Lee Street East, Charleston.

The clinic offered two shots:

  • The seasonal flu vaccine
  • The updated (bivalent) COVID-19 booster

The health officer said it was safe to get both shots on the same day.

Anyone in the first responder community could come, on duty or off duty. Immediate family members, retirees and volunteers were also welcome. People were asked to bring their vaccination cards.

The updated booster was new at that time. See Health Alert #204: CDC Recommends Omicron COVID-19 Booster. The health department had also held COVID-19 vaccine clinics for first responders in December 2020. See the first responder clinic of December 29, 2020 and Health Department Office, Lee Street.
