On Saturday, November 7, 2020, local health organizations held flu vaccine clinics at eight high school sites in Kanawha County. The clinics ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The county health department and Kanawha County Schools worked together on the events, and the shots were free.
Sites included Capital, Riverside, Sissonville, St. Albans and South Charleston high schools. The Herbert Hoover clinic took place at the site of the former school. News reports described the clinics as drive-thru events.
Students who came for a shot had to bring a parent or guardian. High-dose flu vaccine was not offered at these clinics.
