On June 18, 2020, the county health department and the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority announced two more drive-up COVID-19 testing events.
- Thursday, June 25, 2020, 2 to 7 p.m., at Sissonville High School, 6100 Sissonville Drive.
- Wednesday, July 1, 2020, 2 to 7 p.m., at the Schoenbaum Center, 1701 Fifth Avenue in Charleston.
The events were open to anyone, even people without symptoms. Appointments could be made by calling 304-348-1088, but drive-ups were not turned away. The county health officer said COVID-19 had not gone away and was still potentially deadly.
The Schoenbaum event drew 568 people, the largest turnout of the series up to that time. See drive-up testing event Monday at the health department.
