Back-to-School Walk-In Immunization Clinic

In the summer of 2021, the county health department offered walk-in clinics for back-to-school immunizations at its office, 108 Lee Street in Charleston. No appointment was needed.

On the Thursday and Friday before the Fourth of July weekend, walk-in clinics ran from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They offered back-to-school shots along with COVID-19 vaccines for anyone 12 and older. Minors getting a vaccine had to be with a parent or guardian.

In July, the health department also held Walk-in Wednesdays for childhood and school shots on July 7, 14, 21 and 28, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents were asked to bring the child’s vaccine record and insurance information. See Walk-in Wednesdays for childhood immunizations and Back-to-school immunizations by appointment only this year.
