Operation Drumstick was a Thanksgiving-week push in November 2020. The county health department and the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority asked residents to get a COVID-19 test and a flu shot before the holiday, as reported by WCHS Radio.
Testing and flu shot events were held that week at four places: the Shawnee Sports Complex, the Quincy Center in Belle, the health department on Lee Street, and the Schoenbaum Family Enrichment Center.
That fall the health department had started offering flu shots to people who came in for a COVID-19 test.
