In July 2017 the West Virginia Health Alert Network issued an advisory (WVHAN 138) about the 2017 National Scout Jamboree.
The Jamboree ran July 19 to 28, 2017, at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve near Mount Hope in Fayette County. It was the second National Jamboree at that site. The state expected large numbers of Scouts, volunteers and visitors in southern West Virginia.
The advisory reminded health care providers and laboratories to report outbreaks, communicable diseases and unusual conditions during the event, under the state reportable disease rule (64CSR7).
For a later event at the same site, see Health Advisory #160: 24th World Scout Jamboree (2019).
