News release: KCHD, KCEAA to hold COVID-19 vaccine clinic Friday

The health department and the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority, in partnership with West Virginia Health Right, will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic Friday, Jan. 29, at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, 200 Civic Center Drive in Charleston.

The clinic will be from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Appointments for the first doses of the vaccine will be given to people over age 65 who have signed up through the state’s COVID-19 vaccine registration system. Those with appointments will be contacted with their appointment time. No walk-ins will be accepted.

If KCHD administered the first dose of your Moderna vaccine on Dec. 30, Dec. 31, or Jan. 2, you should come to Friday’s clinic to get your second dose. The clinic was initially scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30 but was moved to Friday, Jan. 29. Calls have been made to those who need their second doses with scheduled times to come for their second doses. If you did not receive a call and are due for your second dose, please come at the same time of your first-dose appointment.

Free parking for Friday’s vaccination clinic is available at the Coliseum parking garage.
