Kanawha-Charleston BoH, Cabin Creek Health Systems issue statement about medication-assisted treatment plans

the board of health President Dr. Arthur Rubin and Cabin Creek Health Systems Executive Director Craig Robinson today issued the following joint statement about the possibility of medication-assisted treatment being offered at Cabin Creek’s Sunnyside Clinic, located at the health department.

Cabin Creek Health Systems and the health department have entered into a unique partnership to provide primary care services at a clinic located at the health department.

Craig Robinson’s appearance at a recent meeting of the board of health to brief the board on the possibility of offering medication-assisted treatment at that clinic was the first step in a process to discuss the feasibility of offering MAT services at the KCHD clinic.

It is important for the citizens of Kanawha County to fully understand and be educated on what the program entails, have the ability to ask questions and to also have the backing of leadership at both the state and local levels.

No MAT services will be offered until county officials, city officials and stakeholders are comfortable with providing the service.

Cabin Creek Health Systems and The health department will be scheduling meetings with stakeholders.
