College Shot Clinic

As parents of adolescents, vaccinations are your "best shot" at protecting children from infectious diseases. The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department is working with health care providers and school officials to promote adolescent immunizations in our county. If your child has not yet received these vaccines, call your health care provider or the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department to schedule an appointment.  Special clinics have been set-up each Friday specifically for this campaign.

The following vaccines and number of doses are required for entry in to the drawing:
MMR (2 doses, at least 30 days apart)
Varicella (2 doses or history of chickenpox disease or positive Varicella antibody)
Tdap (preimary series with DTap, DTP, DT or Td and booster with Tdap)
HPV (3 doses for females)
Hepatitis B (3 doses)
Menactra (1 dose)
Influenza (must have at least 1 dose in 2007 or 2008)
Note:  Hepatitis A and Pneumococcal are recommended if at high risk.

Each child under the age of 19 will be screened for Vaccines for Children (VFC) eligibility.  If your child qualifies, they will receive vaccine at no cost, only an administration fee will apply.
